The Inspiration Behind the Jewelry
It started on the beaches of South Carolina. As a girl, I collected shells and wildflowers, stringing them into necklaces with fishing line. Years later, I wandered the streets of Sicily, Barcelona, Paris, New York City and Milan — captivated by rose windows carved in stone, compass needles forged in iron, sunbursts chiseled into castle walls. I started sketching. Then designing. Transforming what I loved about these cities into jewelry I could wear home. Each piece tells a story of a place. A city distilled into precious metal. A wearable memory of each city. For women who collect beauty, not just things. Kirsten Dexter has been featured in Peachy Magazine and South Park Magazine, and recognized as a finalist in the Belk Innovation Contest.
