Gold Vermeil

Vermeil gives you the look and feel of gold jewelry at a fraction of the price. Our gold vermeil pieces are sterling silver heavily plated in 14K yellow gold. While the plating is strong, water and chemicals will affect plating over time and should be avoided.  Vermeil jewelry will tarnish like silver (as it is silver plated in 14K gold).  So it is best to store your gold vermeil jewelry in an airtight bag or box. Remove jewelry before showering and avoid exposure to products such as lotions, perfumes and makeup. Clean your vermeil jewelry, use a soft, damp cloth. Dry your piece before wearing it and do not use harsh chemicals, jewelry cleaners or polishing cloths. We recommend an airtight bag inside our leather jewelry case.  Store separately from other pieces to avoid damage.

Sterling Silver

Maintain the fresh sterling glow by using a jewelry polishing cloth, or a soft rag. Store your pieces in an airtight bag to reduce oxidation and fading. Sterling silver can be easily scratched if cleaned with harsh abrasive chemical cleansers. You can clean your sterling silver by making a paste with baking soda and water. Gently coat your jewelry with this mixture and gently polish off, using lots of water. Be sure to rinse and dry completely before wearing or storing your jewelry.

14K Gold

Clean your 14K gold jewelry by adding a few drops of mild dishwashing liquid to a bowl filled with two cups of warm water. Drop your gold pieces into the solution and let them soak for about 15 minutes. Gently scrub your piece with a soft-bristle toothbrush to remove any dirt and then rinse in warm water. After any cleaning treatment, make sure to rinse and dry completely. Maintain with a soft rag. It’s best to store your pieces in the Kirsten Dexter bag.
