Sicily-Large-Vermeil
Sicily-Large-Vermeil
In the Piazza del Precursore in Ortigia — the ancient island heart of Siracusa — stands the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. In 1693, an earthquake devastated 70 towns across southern Sicily. The church fell. The rose window survived.
I found it on a bike trip with my daughter and husband, on our way to my son's wedding in Kos, Turkey. It was the kind of afternoon where you turn down a street you weren't planning to and discover something that stops you cold. The window was still there in the ruins — a 15th-century stone circle, its petals radiating outward in perfect symmetry, more beautiful for having outlasted everything around it. I knew immediately it would become a pendant.
The Sicily Pendant is an exact replica of that resilient window. Natural diamonds set throughout give it a three-dimensional quality, catching the light as if lifting the petals directly from the carved stone.
Available in Matte Gold Vermeil and Bright Gold Vermeil, in two weights. Chain sold separately — browse our Chains collection to complete the look. Add any chain to your cart and save 10% automatically at checkout — no code needed.
