Medium Sterling Sicily
Medium Sterling Sicily
In the Piazza del Precursore in Ortigia — the ancient island heart of Siracusa — stands the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. In 1693, an earthquake devastated 70 towns across southern Sicily. The church fell. The rose window survived.
I found it on a bike trip with my daughter and husband, on our way to my son’s wedding in Kos, Turkey. It was the kind of afternoon where you turn down a street you weren’t planning to and discover something that stops you cold. The window was still there in the ruins — a 15th century stone circle, its petals radiating outward in perfect symmetry, more beautiful for having outlasted everything around it. I knew immediately it would become a pendant.
The Sicily is a replica of that window. Diamonds set throughout give it a three-dimensional quality — the petals seem to lift from the surface the way the carved stone catches light. It is substantial in weight and presence, the kind of piece you reach for when you want to feel like yourself.
Available in oxidized sterling, vermeil, and 14K gold. Chain sold separately. Handcrafted to order — please allow 2–3 weeks for delivery.
